The giant Trevally is distributed throughout the tropical waters of the Indo - Pacific region, with a range stretching from South Africa in the west to Hawaii in the east, including Japan in the north and Australia in the south. They are known for having outstanding strength, speed and endurance once hooked. Even if you are targeting the smaller size Trevally I recommend starting with a 9 wgt fly rod as these fish are brutes. Large streamer flies work best, though it can be much fun working a popper fly on the surface.
